Super Bowls {appetizer} for your Super Bowl Party!
3 Feb

So you’re having a Super Bowl party are you? And you want to make something that’s not what you’ve seen at every other Super Bowl party you’ve ever been to? You know what kinda heartburn food I’m talking about, the crockpot of Velveeta cheese dip, the bowls of chips, the little weenies in grape jelly, the potato skins, the trays of tums (cause you know you gonna need em), & on and on and on. Well you’re in luck! & I’m pretty confident that if you show up with these super bowls that not only will you be the only one with them they won’t last 15 mins either ; )
Plus they’re insanely adorable & were btw, inspired by my Asian Turkey Burger recipe. If you’re ever in the mood for a kick a$$ turkey burger you should give it a go! But this time, instead of making them into burgers, or even sliders I decided to shake it up. I opted to make them out of wonton wrapper in the shape of bowls!

I’m talking 20 mins tops and you have a plateful of amazing appetizers for your Super Bowl Party! How’s that for easy peasy! Plus you can even make the wasabi mayo the night before (or hello you can even purchase wasabi mayo in the condiment section these days) and the wonton bowls the morning of. It’s almost too easy!
So no matter which team you’re rooting for (I will be rooting for the team with cuter outfits. Yeah, I’m one of those girls don’t judge!) I hope you’ll give these super bowls a go! (although I’m fairly certain which team Kim Kardashian will be rooting for ; )

Wasabi Mayo:
Mayonaise
Wasabi Powder
What to do:
Make your wasabi mayo first. This will get stronger as it sets up so be mindful. Amounts will depend on your personal taste. You only need a small dollop of wasabi mayo on each super bowl ; ) Start by adding the powder mixing it together & tasting. Adjust as necessary. Place mayo in fridge when you’re satisfied with taste.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees to make wonton bowls. Spray a mini muffin tin with cooking spray. Place one wonton wrapper into each hole. Making sure it is pressed down to the bottom. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 mins or until golden.
In a large bowl, combine turkey, onion, garlic & ginger. Season with pepper. Add the soy sauce. Mix together well (careful not to over mix or meat will be tough). You want the mixture to be a nice light brown color.
Place a medium saute pan over medium heat. When your pan is hot, add the turkey mixture & cook until done (just a few mins).
To assemble: Place a small spoonful of the turkey mixture into each cooked wonton wrapper. Garnish with a small dollop of the wasabi mayo & a sprig of thinly sliced green onion (optional)
Enjoy!

What a sweet idea! You’re right, much better than crock pot cheese dip any day! And no Tums required
Thanks Kathy! You’re right, no Tums required! tee hee

I know, I LOVE how versatile wonton wrappers are!
Brilliant! I’m inspired to make the turkey burgers too!
Great idea and great new blog!
Such a great idea and presentation. I’m not much for belllying up to the Velveeta dip so this is a great option.
Love the new blog and blonde on the Vespa—she’s smokin’!!!
These look great, but I have to work that day.
Wow – I WAS going to make bacon deviled eggs for the Superbowl, but you’ve convinced me to make these beauties. Thank you!

Hey Paula,
These are the perfect superbowl snack! I’m going to make them for my friend’s party on Sunday. Thanks for the recipe!
Such a beautiful dish and such a great idea to use wanton wrappers! Must be light, crunchy and yummy
. And your pictures are gorgeous!
These are wonderful, easy, really pretty and tasty I’ll bet. Great recipe!
LOVE the play on words!!! Great idea…the lightbulbs are going off and off and off. Thanks for sharing. Polly
I love these, I saw a pic at the pioneer woman’s site, so pretty, I like this extra little site you did here, great idea, I did the same thing a while back, but haven’t done anything with the url yet. I wanted to combine both blogs under wordpress mu, but its intimidating for me. Are you doing wordpress mu?
Please come back to SAV and cook for me…
I MUST make these!!! Everything I love in one convenient wanton wrapper. And they’re adorable. Even better!
These are so cute! I have a potluck at work coming up in the next couples of weeks, I may have to bring these. Hehe.
That is such great party food. YUm
Yummy! Wish I’d found these before the game. Now I’ll just need a new excuse to make them.
Those look really appealing and refreshingly different! I’m guessing they probably don’t freeze so well, though, huh? I’ll still make them, I’m just a sucker for make-ahead appetizers.
I am going to make these for my next party they look great!
I made those shells before, the presentation is always so cute. I just stuffed mine with a black bean salsa
This one is a great idea, thanks.
